Reno - gambling city in lights
Reno is the second gambling center, after Las Vegas, in Nevada.It is placed in very dry climate - no drop of rain during the whole summer. Surrounded landscape is truly amazing though.
Among different attractions it offers (like Lake Tahoe, Virginia city, balloon races, Hot August Nights and so on) casinos are still in the main focus.
I spent summer 2003 working in this gambling business there.
Reno is known as the biggest little city in the world.
Lights are the form of attracting customers.
Wedding chapels - at every corner. Fast and easy - 50$ and you are married. All the wedding equipment you can rent at the place. For divorce you have to spend 150$.
For those who are really in hurry there is even wedding chapel drive thru.
Lights and constant sound of slots.
In every casino there are few bars...
... tons of slots...
...different games, like Keno...
...or theme restaurants, here malaysian one.
You can watch some stage performances...
...find waterfalls...
...strange installations...
or fountains.
There are even casinos for children and their parents, where you can win toys and watch circus performances.
You loose sense of time without sunlight in artificially lighted rooms.
Thats actually the idea of keeping customer as long as possible.
Every gambling customer is served with free drinks:)
You are expected to give tips instead.
View on the city form the hill. Thats how you see it after all:)
